All through the years since people have asked why someone would need more than this size hard drive, or a faster video card, or a bigger screen, or a faster processor, etc etc. This is a question that goes back to my first computer in 1979. I can't help you with a video card recommendation but I do wonder how and why you are going to utilise these 10 bits in still photography? Heavy processing will show banding on jpgs but if you are processing raw then you have to be doing extreme processing to induce banding.

If you are into video with something like the GH5, which can capture in 10 bit, and are doing extensive colour grading then 10 bits is a good idea. Are there any newer high end video cards from AMD or Nvidia that can do 10 bit color in PS and function as a decent video card for games and movies or is the 6000 the best compromise? I do some video with Premiere Pro, photos with Photoshop, and watch movies and sometimes play games. I'm thinking of getting a Nvidia Quadro 6000 at under $200 USD (yes I know old tech).

My budget is around $375.00 USD and I have a DYI computer with 32 gigs of ram, an intel i7 2600 3.40GHz, and PCIe 2.0 slots running windows 10 pro 64-bit. I have a 10 bit Eizo monitor so going with anything less would be a foolish waste of money spent on the monitor. After much searching it still isn't clear which video cards are capable of doing 10 bit color in photoshop cs6.
